This card is tons of fun in my Jhoira of the Ghitu EDH deck. (When it comes un-suspended, you cast it!)

One card that will for sure stop Emrakul, the Aeons Torn dead on its tracks is " MEDDLING MAGE." and its standard legal also.. :)

@micashbrain you are incorrect. If prison term is on one of their creatures and you use a simic guildmage or some other ability to transfer the term (or pacifism or whatever) onto Emrakul then there is no problem with that. Even if it's being cast because it comes into play after it is on the stack then targets Emrakul as a permanant. Copying and pasting the comprehensive rules doesn't mean that you are correct. Now that applies to if Emrakul had let's say Protection from White, or Protection from Auras or something along those lines.

I won this in a draft recently. I chose him with the first pick simply because he is the most powerful creature ever printed (Not the 'best' creature, of course, but P/T wise, and probably ability-wise too) I think Emrakul earns a little respect for that.

@bullgaria

next time you play with that opponent, please note, the legend rule to your fellow player!

and the reason why it stops mill decks, is that when he is put into your graveyard from anywhere, you get to shuffle your whole graveyard back into your library! good card!

With this a mill deck is lost. Just that simple x.X I play a mill deck and now im having lots of problems against this card. Someone with a good idea to avoid loosing just because the other one has one of this guys in the deck?

Other possible options for halting emrakul and it's ridiculousness.

"Pinger" (as in, a creature that taps to deal X damage) with death touch. An example of this would be Prodigal Pyromancer with a Basilisk Collar attached.

Aura Finesse + Pacifism or Crystallize. Pacify one of your own creatures and then Aura Finesse the enchantment on over to Emrakul.

If you're not bent on playing Standard format, you could also try using Prison Term

Should have been 17cmc just so it could be the most expensive card in magic. This still costs the same as Autochthon Wurm and one less than Draco. although at least those can have their costs reduced.

Question: If I were to cast multiple copies of Emrakul, in one turn, say by using Spawsire of Ulamog's 20 mana ability to drop my entire sideboard (and any cards exiled by Journey to Nowhere, Oblivion Ring, etc.) It That Betrays so that all nontoken permanents that an opponent sacrifices is put onto the battlefield under my control, All is Dust to get rid of those pesky colored permanents on both sides of the table but putting their permanents into play on my side, Ulamog to destroy any permanent that survived All is Dust (most likely some other Eldrazi), Artizans of Kozilek to bring back your creatures from the graveyard, Pathrazers of Ulamog or Eldrazi con***ion to round out the rest of the sideboard, and four copies of Emrakul to take multiple turns for what had better be the win.

I certainly know I get to cast each of those cards in the order I choose to allow maximum carnage. But would multiple Emrakuls really equal multiple timewalks? Good news is even though they would eac... (see all)
