Actually, there is an official banned list for EDH/Commander (though many groups will houserule the list): See http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php . Where the confusion comes from is that that site lists Emrakul as banned, but the Sets and Legality tab here lists him as legal for Commander (which is just another name for EDH). Personally, I'd assume that he's actually banned, and that the Wizards folks just forgot to update that in their database, since the Wizards folks recognize the folks at that other link as the arbiters of the format's rules; Wizards is just adding the information here and in the Comprehensive Rules as a convenience.

@ Palutena--1) Kumano's ability is a colored ability, so he is protected, and 2) "dies" and "goes to the graveyard" are the same thing.

If this was cast with sneak attack, because I did not cast it from my hand, would the ability that tells me to take an extra turn after this one still trigger?

@Arachibutyrophobia
(Really? The fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth? X-D)

EDH was becoming less of a Magic game but more of a race to 15 and win. If you ran him, you only needed to get something like Channel (which is now, also banned) going or some other similar insane mana combo and you would wreck your opponent's field with the Annil 6 so even if it was a mirror match, there was no hope of recovering. If you were playing against it, all you could do it hope to disrupt them enough so your win condition could step in.

In other words, it was format warping. This is why most cards are banned.

Funny enough, this is still legal in "Commander" as Wizards hasn't updated it under the "Sets & Legality" tab as of this post. The generally accepted source for EDH rules is here for those interested:

@Teakon

Many of those are colored so they have no effect on Emrakul.

Progenitus can't block Emrakul and Emrakul can't block Progenitus. Everybody is happy.
