Good both as a react to a creature being killed and in combination with until-end-of-turn pumps, eg: Gigantomancer.

Okay, time for the noob question...
I have Aura Gnarlid on my field attached with Bear Umbra... I tap to attack and in response my opponent do something... (Path to exile, O-ring, etc) to remove Aura Gnarlid from play. Since I declared attack, all my lands will be untapped right? and so i can use this in response to my opponent's removal? how many cards and life do i get actually? 5 draws and 5 life? or 2 draws and 2 life?

Nice response to removal. This card goes with Sarkhan Vol as well.

This card follows me around. Two drafts and I have 3 of them (2 through rare pool and 1 through prizes)

With this immense amount of removal that is around right now, this seems like an incredibly solid spell for green. When combined with Vines of Vastwood, it give you some serious counter-capability.

The fact that this is a instant makes it so much better. It does look good to use this on Pelakka Wurm after you attack for 7 trample the turn after it came into play. But if you have 4 open mana (not hard for green) you can do this in response to your opponent killing that big beast you just worked so hard to cast. Not only does it make your opponent spend one of his removals but you have the potenial for some mad card advantage, and you get to gain life! This is a very good card.

Sweet to play with Omnath (I have a green EDH deck). When you play this and sac omnath, you can pay the mana cost and the "sacrifice a creature" cost in any order, so generally you float a bunch of mana, sac a large omnath, then pay the 2GG. The game looks back and sees the big omnath, so you get cards/life equal to the power/toughness of omnath before paying the 4 mana. Pretty neat

Thought Gorger is awesome with this card. I have a green black deck with this, thought gorger and vengevine. I ramp out Thought Gorger as early as possible for 3-5 counters. Swing swing swing untill I hit my momentous fall, draw about 8-10 cards. If im lucky hit another thought gorger. Play it then next turn swing with my 12/12 with trample. And if you kill him of with your terminate or your maelstrom pulse or even path to exile, i am not gonna cry about it because I get my hand back and then some. And more than likely gonna be able to throw a vengevine or 2 out in the process. Sounds like a win win to me.
