This instantly made me think of Bravado.

The only advantage of a colorless equipment Bravado is exactly that; it's colorless and can be switched. Red doesn't boast much enchantment swapping or any enchanting at all, they're usually hosed by it or have a tough time dealing with it. You need to run WR to acommadate that thing.

The inappropriate cost of 4 for equipping is made okay because it's no longer a red enchantment(and because it's easy to get colorless mana fast and lower those costs as well). It makes it available to other colored decks or monocolors without the need for splashing for some silly enchantment.

With Mirrodin's return and other equipment wh*ring cards, you can pull this off but it will only ever be super useful in token/swarm or agressive red but it already has it's own Bravado. Otherwise, it simply provides a way to get the other colors a morsel of red pie.

I'm rating this a 5/5. With the right deck this can be sooo crazy. Nomads' Assembly, Armament Master, Kor Duelist, Kor Outfitter

Too expensive for competitive play but, beyond that, can be devastating in the right deck. I run a BlueRed control deck with some Eldrazi; this and Rapacious One are best friends. I just throw some counters and spot burn on anything worthwhile that comes out until I bank six or seven mana, then it's on. In a casual deck like that, 7 total mana for an equipment that can break the game open. And later I can always play Mass Polymorph once those Eldrazi spawn get out, and this thing stays around to be re-equipped to something big and nasty.

I initially liked the artwork and smiled about the pleasant effect, but when i glanced over the card and got to read the numbers that state the mana cost for casting and equipping this blade, i started to regret having taken a look at this card.

Yeah, going to call bad on this one. Has a rediculously high equip cost and really just seems like a win-more really. Doesn't combo with Mycoloth or Hero. If the game gets to the point where you're untapping with a large Mycoloth or attacking with Hero of Bladehold, you're going to win anyway, and this card serves no real purpose then being silly.

In addition, having a bunch of creatures on the battlefield is just walking yourself into a Wrath effect, something that I try to avoid when building decks.

Best case scenario would be Eldrazi token decks, but I feel that there are still better finishers for that style deck, esp since the blade doesn't give trample so all of your pressure can be chump blocked by 1 creature each turn.
