Darn it. I just finished writing a lengthy comment about how Aven Fisher isn't that bad, only to hit random card and get this. I mean, come on!
(Yes, I am aware that there are times and decks in which this card is worse, but still, it really puts Aven Fisher to shame.)

“Today I was sent out to examine the Darkslick, an area where the vedalken have noticed the dark sludge of the Mephidross spreading into the Quicksilver Sea. I saw a drake as I approached in the distance and I did my best to go unnoticed. It did not appear to be acting as I knew a drake to act: it flew with its wings twitching and its path erratically dipping, instead of gracefully gliding. Then I saw it fall from a spire’s height, into the Dross, and I was close enough that I could hear its bones break. On a tight schedule, I did best not to be distracted and measured the expansion of the Dross in the sector I was assigned. I concluded my survey and with extra time, ventured to inspect the drake’s body, half submerged in the Dross. Its neck was broken and looked like it had been ill, its bones exposed and its scales withered like burnt paper. As interesting as it was, the drake was only a diversion, so I opted to return to the Seat. But as I left I heard a noise, and turned around to... (see all)
