I really like the way the art direction for this block created creatures with furnace-like hearts breathing fire from their chest rather than just their mouth - it makes it feel so powerful and primal.

Very good creature to play against heavy artifact decks

Watch out if this is your only 4 drop left/in you’re birthing pod deck because it will eat it, if it’s the only viable target. Other than that great 4 drop for red.

Is that a Walker reference in the flavor text?
Nice throwback, wizards. I continue to be a fan.

This lasted till like pick #6 in draft. It should NEVER go that long. I gladly took it, and ran red for him. Nearly as strong as Viridian Corrupter as a pick in this block.

A 3.5/5 in any other block... a 4.5/5 in SOM, where it has no shortage of targets. Destroy a Steel Hellkite and get a Hill Giant!
