Guest, the trap only triggers if the creature spell was countered by an opponent. You can't play this for free by countering your own creature.

wow this card is really awesome, if you play green and your cards are getting countered all the time, it gives you a free creature to the field, and that creature could be something big. Even if you don't play it as a trap, still pretty good, though the mana cost is a bit high. In 7 cards of your library bound to find something.

Let's examine the possible outcomes:
Good- 4GG: Cast a creature from your deck as though it had flash.
Better- 0: cast a creature from your deck. Preferably one that cost a ton of mana.
Bad- 4GG: Seriously? The next seven cards in my deck were lands or summoning traps?
Now all you have to do is try to get one of the better outcomes.
In short find a way to look at and manipulate the top card of your deck and pray you're matched against a blue control deck.

I love it when blue decides to counter my River Boa (because of its lovely Islandwalk) then I plop this down to make a turn 2 Terra Stomper or Rampaging Baloths :D

turn 1: forest, lannowar elves
turn 2: Island, elf, essence scatter, summoning trap, drop the biggest fatty you can get out of the 7, possible ones are Terra Stomper, Rampaging baloth, Progenitus, Kaldorian Behemoth, Godsire, Emperiical Archangelm Iona, Shield of Emeria, Baneslayer Angel, anything big that you would like turn 2 is good
