Be prepared to wanna punch your best friend in the face when he rolls the right side and picks you.

Man I hate those you-can't-cast-spells effects. No fun.

This is one of those planes that everyone seems to want to planeswalk off of

Everyone except those people that built their deck around this kind of effect.

At least this time there's no Goblin Polka Band.

This is the best Plane. I mean, it's massively annoying, but it's Shandalar. SHANDALAR!

I thought this was an awesome shout-out. It's Shandalar, from the old Microprose MTG game!

The nice thing about the severe downside of somebody rolling chaos on you is that you have twice as much mana to keep rolling the planar die for yourself and still have leftover mana to cast spells when you leave. I think that somewhat balances the meanness of the effect, and it's usually only a severe problem if you are one spell away from losing the game.

I got a love-hate relationship with this one. I usually use a mana ramp deck with Planechase so I like getting the two for one mana. Turn 2-3 Titan works just fine for me. Being locked out of spells with twice the mana available is a really frustrating tease however. At least there's (usually) a one in six chance of rolling chaos. Locking someone else out is nice too. However, this is a plane I generally like to see.

One time I was doing a 4-way planechase round and every single person rolled chaos. It took as a couple rotations of spending all our mana to roll to planeswalk away...
