Better than Icatian Store because you don't have to decide at the beginning of your turn how you are going to use it and you can combine this card with untap spells like Burst of Energy but still a little hard to use.

I really think this kind of mechanic needs to make a comeback, even in artifact form. It'd be pretty handy to be able to store mana until you need it, and unleash it all in a single burst, fueling spells like Planar Cleansing, or anything with an X in it.
