I run this guy in a Chainer, Dementia Master EDH deck. Just got to really play him for the first time and I have to say, probably one of the most exciting cards to draw in the deck. Four mana and I get to recur any spell in my 'yard? Sign me up. Card that synergizes with death triggers and can be targeted by reanimation spells, and is nigh-unblockable? Icing on the cake. In a recent game that I played, I played a Temporal Extrortion on turn 4, dropped this guy the next turn an sac'd him, nabbed the Extortion from my yard, and played it again using Lake of the Dead. After I got Chainer out in a couple of turns, I proceeded to recur the extortion multiple time using mana from Black Market and the Lake. One of my opponents even offered up half their life to counter an extortion, and I had enough mana to cast it a second time. All in all it was a series of interactions that was a blast to play and made the ... (see all)

I dunno. According to the book, Xiahou Dun was shot in the eye with an arrow during battle, and he pulled the arrow out of his eye socket and swallowed his own eye. This guys should have a way higher toughness, in my opinion.

Amazing EDH general in 1-on-1 mono-black control. Lets you recur Tutors with Corpse Dance. Then its just a matter of getting the right cards at the right time. The fact this guy is both easy to revive from the graveyard in a color with tons of animation and tutors and has the ability to bring back any card (creature or otherwise) makes him a big threat in slower formats like Highlander.
Plus he's basically unblockable and has more story and flavor than the average Magic legend (since its based on a historical figure like most of P3K).

One of this on the battlefield, one in your graveyard and a Bridge from Below = 2.5/5 Combo... Not the best, but still nice.. If you haven't anything else to do, put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield...

Rated 5/5 to bring up the rating. This is one of the best cards with horsemanship. Horsemanship= unblockable.

Why is this card only rated a 2? Who would rate this as a .5 just because of horsemanship? This card is absolutely amazing in so many situations, and currently resides at the top of my 100 as my Mono Black general.

AND nobody I know has any horsemanship guys goin' on either...
I think this is my new favorite card. I wish it wasn't so spendy ($$$)

yeah, he makes a decent monoblack general.
He's virtually unblockable and nets you cards, both are of use.
