At that cost? One black mana?

It was used back in the day to slow down kird ape by swamping their taiga. It's also the cheapest way to make a zombie tribal deck unblockable alongside zombie master.

Not something you can justify at that cost in black nowdays. Blue, yes. Green, yes. Black, not any more.

Edit: I meant, this is something that can't be justified in modern black for as low a cost as 1 mana. Blue and green are the only two colors in modern Magic that can justify this for less then 2 mana.
