Typical of old cards: sticking a drawback on a mediocre card that doesn't need a drawback

Green, and white could swing a 1/3 for C with no drawback. None of the other colors could though, and thus artifact can't get it either. This works in the other colors when you need a little breathing room, and don't want to play steel wall. I play it in my red attrition deck that has things like Spiteful Visions and Manabarbs. It is extremely castable, so you can be efficient with it, off of a turn two Everflowing Chalice for instance.

Unwinding Clock makes this guy a little more fun to play.

You used to be able to put fire whip on this and then during your upkeep you simply pay 1 for 1 damage. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Good in the early game, but dies to Rancor.

This seems like what Urza had to work with when trying to create Yotian Soldiers...much better.

cheap blocker that gets to reap the rewards if it survives long enough for you to get a few splicers out.
EDIT: nix that, coulda sworn he was ruled a golem and not a construct.
still, not awful, and the art is cool.
