The Roc Egg looks great for control in white basically because it forces your opponent to remove two creatures for one card.

It works quite well with a World Queller since you can force your opponent to sacrfice a creature and happily sacrfice your egg to get the bird out. :)

This combo just becomes broken if you have an active Emeria, the Sky Ruin in late game.

Did i possibly miss the extinction of the creature type "Egg" in the past days in Magic?
I wonder why this was not made a "Bird Egg".

Aside from that, this is a nice little white Rukh Egg replacement.
(The original Rukh Egg notably (still ?) bears the creature type "Egg" and not "Bird")
Pity this one has Defender

I want to equip a Warmonger's Chariot to this and have my egg charge into battle.

@ land_comment - Well, first off, Rukh Egg was weird in that it was an egg that could attack.

Also, red is not the strongest color for flying, aside from its dragons and phoenixes and a couple others. Birds, and flying in general, are typically white and blue's domain, as is defender.

If you just handed me the template for the card and asked me to color it, I'd have given Rukh Egg to white or blue, which is just what they did here.

Among all other creatures, there were 3 eggs lying down around... Suddenly, a powerfull white explosion caused all creatures to die, and then 3 birds hatched....

It's nice seeing Rukh Egg again in another form, but I'm not sure white needed it.

Don't like the flavor much.

An Egg is a creature that can block? So whenever an opponent attacks, I will roll it into the battlefield. And hopeully, it get's destroyed, because I get a Bird token. And the best way is to eat the egg (sacrificing it) to get the bird????

Great little card in limited. Can almost entirely stall the ground, at least in the early game. "Oh, you can attack with your Spined Wurm - I'll 'chump' it with this guy, and next turn, Pacify it. Thanks for the bird token". Flying is, of course, always relevant in limited, so having the potential to get a 3/3 flier is pretty sweet on a card, even if it isn't straightforward.

You can do some quirky things with it though. In perhaps my best (read: luckiest) draft ever, among other cards, I got 2 Blinding Mages, a Royal Assassin, a Sun Titan and a Roc Egg. At one point in one game my opponent's battlefield was clear of creatures to kill, and I had all the aforementioned cards out. So at the end of the opponent's turn I tapped my egg, killed it, and got my bird token, then fished it out with the Sun Titan on the following turn to repeat the process. Of course, I only got to use it once more after that, but it was pretty cute. ^^

@Silvanwolf: while Minion Reflector works, it seems like a... (see all)
