Probably the best of the cycle, since it effectively reduces all burn spells by 1.

With that flavour text, maybe they should name it Dragon's Tooth?

A lot of the other cards in the cycle are less attractive, as they aren't as detrimental to the opponents plan...
but this one is a glorious exception, and literally counteracts the whole strategy behind most red decks, which is getting to that magic number 20
while that is usually the goal of every other deck, it is most certainly not a evident or at least emphasized in any other color but red
with cards like Golblin Guide, that give your opponent card advantage just for that 1 extra point of dmg off the bat
Funny though, the best place for this card?
RDW sideboard
For the mirror of coarse, saw a guy start off with no lands but still pull out on top cause he got three of these out

Many beginning Magic players love this cycle, and I feel that for that reason there is a good likelihood that the cards will remain. They have their uses, or at least this one does, as it is often sideboarded against RDW. As long as this one has its uses the others will probably be reprinted alongside it, as they are a cycle, after all. No, it's not the greatest card, but I appreciate the nature of the game and that there are new players, casual players, FNM players, and the most experienced tournament players, and for new and casual players these cards are sometimes seen as 4/5. I know these cards have their home, despite their limited tournament value.

This actually does seem like a really good choice for the RDW mirror-match.

Hey, I side this in against RDW, and its pulled me out of games that I would've lost by a long shot! I also play red, but it does serve a purpose.

I think the text alludes to your ENEMY using red spells.

Please stop printing this cycle, WotC. It's a waste of cards.

So here's a question: when a player has a character card that can level up and it specifies that the action of leveling must be used as a sorcery (probably just to constrict WHEN the leveling can be performed) does that leveling ability count as a red spell, thus activating Dragon's Claw's ability? Or would the creature's leveling ability simply be colorless? Also, would each level be a separate spell or would the "spell" only activate Dragon's Claw's ability once per turn?

"Whenever a player casts a red spell, you may deal one damage to target creature or player that has not taken damage this turn. You may also gain one life."
Fixed. Next Card.
