Prototype Portal + THIS is a lot of fun in my Urzatron deck. Having 10 mana to cast and run the portal usually happens by turn five. The deck also has O-Naginata which helps this guy out a lot.

I love this card. It can be plugged in mostly anywhere and can often dominate and win a game by itself.

I've given this a 5 of 5 rating, which I almost never do.
Why? Because all of its costs can be paid with any type of mana, it's very powerful, and despite these two aspects, it's balanced.

Absolutely beautiful card. I run 4 of these guys in a colorless Urzatron/Locus/Sol Ring deck and they can decide most games when they come out turn 3-4.

@TowerDefender: Illusionist's Bracers wouldn't work. Steel Hellkite's ability doesn't target a player, or have a target at all. It destroys all permanents of the chosen mana cost whose controller was dealt combat damage by Steel Hellkite this turn. The way to create the effect you're looking for would be to redirect part of Steel Hellkite's combat damage to a player you aren't attacking. As far as I can tell, the only way to do that would be to enchant an opponent's creature with Ward of Piety, use an effect that gives Steel Hellkite trample, and then get the enchanted creature to block Steel Hellkite. Rather complicated.
