I actually really like it because it can either be a giant wall or a giant sword depending on the situation. a bit expensive but can be really useful :P

Might have been decent if you could change his/her toughness/power as an instant. Sort of like a mini-morphling.

Considering this was an artifact creature from back in the day, this isn't terrible.
I'd use it, just to get the chance to play around with it.

Not very good, but lots of FUN.

6 for a 0/7: terrible. For a 1/6, 2/5, 3/4, 4/3, 5/2, or a 6/1, terrible. Hacing options makes it almost reasonable, but it's still bad.

"Shapeshifter's power and toughness add up to 7? "

Ok, Ill make my shapeshifter a -100/107. That adds up to 7.

the original text is easier to understand than oracle text.... when they try to update old cards like this with mechanics they never reprinted, the oracle text usually sounds drastically different than originally intended.

What sounds easier to understand: Choose a number between 0 and 7; Shapeshifter's power is equal to the last chosen number and its toughness is equal to 7 minus that number.

Shapeshifter's power and toughness add up to 7?

@Bbone37: Have you tried reading the rest of the card, dipshit?

"but neither may be more than seven."
