@dudecow: They specifically said when they previewed this that scry isn't becoming evergreen, they're just considering using expansion keywords in occasional core sets now. Don't expect to see it coming back in M12 unless they change they're mind. Though I agree, I wish it was evergreen, and I'd love to see this as a permanent replacement over Sage Owl.

Only a foo wold prefer Sage Owl to this guy. Who cares about one extra card if you can rid yourself of those you don't want? If JacetMS wasn't in standard, I'd expect this to see some play.
Another card that spits in the face of its predecessor (Sage Owl).

Early game, the Scry will help you get going a little better, and he's a decent early blocker (and attacker if they have no way to block or damage him).

Mid/Late game, Scry to see if there's anything that could save your butt or finish off the opponent near the top, and he can still sacrifice himself to protect you from a big non-trampler.

Looks like a replacement for Sage Owl. I guess all of the old archetype cards are slowly being replaced, no more Drudge Skeletons in M11 either.
