Even if you do play this after turn 3, it is not useless; it is still a dual land that you get every turn from now on

Beutiful and eerie flavor text that would presage the upcoming phyrexian invasion. This whole cycle of lands had great continuity in flavor text. Something to strive for in upcoming sets. Not to mention these are amazing lands.

I like this a lot in my casual exalted deck. It's usually not too annoying when it comes into play tapped later in the game. It seems close in utility to the pain lands. I would say testing would be needed to ensure it's not a liability to come into play tapped when the land count is 3 or more.

Nice because almost all counters and O-rings only cost 3 mana. If you have access to those, you can wait another turn.
