Now that mana burn is no more, this card no longer has a drawback beyond enchantment destruction.

A good accelerant in red, makes casting large Fireballs and Disintegrates possible...Also makes a vicious combo with Manabarbs and Power Surge...

The original double edged sword. With mana burn removed, this card is all the more insane.

I remember we used to argue about how to determine whether a given color of mana was 'appropriate' or not. "It's appropriate because I'm trying to cast Serra Angel and I need another 
for that! Who cares if I tapped a Forest?!"
