Yet another thing that Unwinding Clock breaks wide open. That thing is like the Doubling Season of artifacts.

They're too slow to use on their own in most formats, but they're great in a prolificate deck, especially since those decks also tend to have lots of ways to untap their artifacts to reuse their Contagion Engines and Contagion Clasps.

@psychichobo
Seedborn muse has existed for years. Unwinding clock is good, but it's hardly a new ability. The only reason people notice it is because it says only artifacts, so people actually look for cards that combo with it instead of think 'oh... that's neat..'.
This card was obviously designed to be built around, and I like it. It's too bad I wasn't playing during mirrodin block or I probably would have tried to make a standard deck that uses this. It looks fun.

I run this in {R}{B} to get rid of enchantments.

Vorel of the Hull Clade just found his favorite removal.

I agree with the general sentiments here -- it's far too slow on its own. It frustrates me that even with a Voltaic Key and Energy Chamber out, it will still only fire every two turns.
But I still run this in my Soldier EDH. Why? Flavour.

Had 4 of these in a deck with 4 Energy Chambers and four Paradox Hazes. Then I had to retire the deck before any of my friends would play with me again.

This and Spine of Ish Sah give efficient Mirran and Phyrexian *colorless* removal; which is nice for themed decks. I have a pair of decks I'm making now and having a couple of these in it without really focusing on it means that I have an eventual out to problem cards like worship while being pure artifacts/etc.
Some noteworthy combos are Power Conduit (both to charge it or charge something else), Energy Chamber (destroy something every other turn), and Coretapper (same as above but the ability to super charge it immediately.)
It's notable that unlike Titan Forge (which annoyingly requires both mana *and* tapping to add counters) this can fuel itself without weakening your turns. Either way; this is both a fun build-around card and a fun throw-in-to-deal-with-problems card.

Dear Lux Cannon,
My wife and I just don't connect anymore. After 24 years of marriage I've come to find that the romance that fueled our early relationship is just no longer there, and the children that are our mutual love and passion no longer need us like they did. Everything outside us that has driven and kept us together now seems to be evaporating. Still, I love my wife and I know it would devastate my children and both our families if our marriage ends. I cant talk directly with my wife about this - I've tried and that's when our current troubles escalated, making me truly worried about the state of our marriage. We no longer even sleep in the same bed. I do wish to stay together - but I just don't see how that is possible with my marriage in it's current state. Please, how can I get the ball rolling with my wife so that we can build something again between us and not outside of us that will keep us together for another 24 years or more?
Sincerely,
Getting Lonelier in New Prahv... (see all)
