This guy wishes he was in Scars of Mirrodin, with an abundance of artifacts and Proliferate to renew his fade counters... it would be like heaven for him.

Would be much better with haste, since without it you only get a few swings in..still flexible for green with is rather unusual in older cards. Also could work well with the new proliferate mechanic.

You have to keep in mind that when this card was released, green was very limited in its ability to deal with artifacts. Now there are lots more green artifact destruction cards, but back then there were only a few. Today this card isn't all that great, but back then having an option to take out artifacts, plus a decent attacker for a few turns was a pretty good thing.

The real question is:
Is it wood ripper?
Or woo dripper?

Hitting Random card I got this card three times. Now I have to comment on it.

It's actually not That bad, and with fading you can remove all three counters to destroy things and still have a chump for a turn as fading only triggers sack when it has no counters going through your upkeep.

Sure in red you got cards like Rack and Ruin that can destroy two artifacts for three but it's green and from a while back. If you really need to destroy three artifacts for eight mana that's not to bad for mono green if that's what you are playing. And besides Uktabi Kong which obviously doesn't count there are no green creature cards that destroy all artifacts so three is the next best thing.

To use this to get rid of 3 artifacts you have to be prepared to do that the turn you put it out, in other words, you need 8 mana then. By the time you get to untap and use this to destroy artifacts you've lost a fade counter and can get rid of 2 artifacts (potentially). In that case, you just paid 5 mana in one turn and then 2 more mana the next turn to wait a turn to destroy 2 artifacts.

It's playable I guess. If you really need to, you could play it and destroy 3 artifacts. Or you have it stick around, as a nice blocker for one turn and up to 12 damage if it connects. Or a mix of those.
