If you don't think this card is good consider this; Plague Stinger plus Piston sledge equals four poison counters on turn three, give it Giant Growth on the next turn and swing for a turn four win.

I can't think of any other equipment that can give your creature such a big boost so quickly. Put Piston Sledge on akor duelist or kitesail apprentice and you've got a pretty credible turn three threat. If the need to reequip arises then you just rely on Puresteel Paladin giving your sledge "equip 
".

I believe this is Homage to Grafted Wargear (despite the other grafted equips that were printed.) Why? because it's a T3 buff that requires things to die to move and it attaches for free the first time. The way things have to die to move it is different, but still, IMO it's homage; and they're both awesome.
