Yeah at first I was skeptical about the goodness of this one. Then a friend of mine built a R/W/U deck around it. Phyrexian Metamorph and this are a perfect match. Multiple extractors on the field is a death sentance, especially with the ability to target creatures too. Porcelain Legionnaire stalls the game, and War Report keeps him alive. God help you if it gets to midgame.

Outrageously perfect with metamorph.

Please observer these red enchantments that also do damage using a mechanic from their set:
Æther Charge
Boggart Shenanigans
Burning Vengeance
Furnace Celebration
Ion Storm
Lightning Rift
Magmatic Core
Rumbling Aftershocks
Where Ancients Tread
now compare and contrast.

Casting several of these in succession of each other is a downright cruel thing to do.

Rage extractor + postmortem lunge = fireball and someone to beat with till end of turn?

First Rage Extractor. Looks scary. Second Rage Extractor, hits for 5 damage, opponents hate you. Third Rage Extractor, hits for 10 damage. Gut shot, game over.

With phyrexian metamorph getting more than one extractor into play can tear your opponent apart if you've got the right cards to follow through with. Alongside the new curse of bloodletting shit gets even more menacing!

One day I was looking through my collection and I saw this.
I smiled. And when I'm smiling, that could either be a very, very good thing, or a very, very bad thing. Sometimes different things to different people.
I want to build a deck around this thing.
No, wait. I want to build an EDH deck around this thing. Using it as my commander. I can do that, right? ...I can't? Aw dangit. (New suggestion! EDH variant where your commander can be any permanent card, and doesn't have to be legendary. Also, no color restrictions; you can still build a 5-color deck with this as your "commander". Call it "JCPH" for "Johnny Combo Player Highlander".)
Next plan! Build casual multiplayer deck from it.
The idea is simple. Throw a bunch of basic lands and cards with phyrexian mana costs, add in some life gain, then add 4 of this card. Just pay 2 for all that phyrexian mana when the mana itself isn't available. Then burn everything that moves.

1) Stacks with itself.
2) Can get out of control.
3) Interesting way to win the game.

So I almost scrapped these from my R/W deck. It's an artifact heavy deck that has monstrous life gain. The rage extractors didn't really help.
Until the first couple of rounds I played with it.
All my phyrexian mana cost cards started wiping out forces for the Thundering Tanadon I had added. And even more higher cost Phyrexian Creatures like Phyrexian Metamorph and Moltensteel Dragon made for a dangerous constant casting. I was the winner of a 7 man game in about 22 turns (build up and then attacking).
I was lucky when I bought 8 boosters for this set, and 5 of them had Rage Extractors in them.
Also Scrapyard Salvo was good for when they finally killed most of my artifacts and artifact creatures.
