This card only gets and keeps infect when the opponent has been hit with infect. This proves the ideals of poison counters: One drop and you never go back.

Love the flavor here.

One of the things New Phyrexia did introduce from a limited and sealed perspective, is developing out Infect into a much more viable "alternate" win condition. While this card isn't really great - it's a decent enough late pick if you're going green.

New Phyrexia corrupting all the colours adds an interesting flavour to the game. Evil elves, but still green rather than black.

I really like this card in draft. You can take it when you're considering but not committed to infect and either way you go it's playable.

Like the idea, but I wouldn't pick this for a non-infect deck. All it takes is my opponent dropping ichor rats and suddenly he's doing the wrong type of damage.

How is this bad?

"Does it have infect?"
"Do you want it to have infect?"

This flexibility allows anyone to pick this card in a draft, so non-infect people will have a 3/1 beatstick and infect decks will have a 3/1 infect. everyone wins.

i agree with Mekh. and i did not think about it like that. the new phyrexia pre-release is going to b the first sealed i have ever done. although it is pretty weak without any equips, it is very versatile that this guy and his girlfriend swing both ways.
