I suspect he might be a little overshadowed by Fervor in a lot of cases now, though by no means all.

Comparisons to Fervor are interesting; This guy uses activated abilities, though, which is something that differentiates them. For example, this guy can kill Phantasmal Image, or function helpfully in multiplayer.
And he can, ya know, block and attack and be sacrificed and various other creature only things.

Goblin Piker has one of the most supported creature types in all of magic. Human has only recently had support and most of it's white; Shaman I can't name much support for bar Kinship. This card is mostly better, but in no way is it strictly.
