If you use Dark Ritual, you can cast this on turn one take out 4 cards for two (opponent's) turns or 3 cards for three turns. Even if you cast it later, the delay you put on your opponent is brutal.

Throw it in a deck with 4 Clockspinning and it just might give you the game. 4/5. Not the greatest, but practical and low cost.

@Kyrptnyt: You can't actually do that. Since you can only activate the ability as a sorcery, you must let each activation resolve before activating it again. So you could knock out one card (by activating the mastermind in response to one activation) but you couldn't stack multiples.

I wish i knew where i put this card. this card is actually great, especially with discard decks, take out one or two cards in your first two turn, then play this card and take out 4, then when he gets those back, you'll have enough mana to force him most if not all of the cards he just got back. but it's especially good because it sets your opponents card advantage back real easily if played in the beginning of the game, which can cause him the game later on. Advanced players are probably one of the very few who can really appreciate this card.

Well, activate the ability five times then cast Erase or use Vedalken Mastermind to bounce it while the activations are on the stack, and voila, you just blammed their hand for cheap.

Might be nice in Pox as you will be eating their board and hand anyway. Stalling their hand down to top-decking for 2-3 turns could well be a key component. Same goes for black land destruction strats.
Kick them while they're down; feels very Black :)
