This is an amazing way for green to do creature removal. REALLY hope this gets reprinted in a core set at some point.

In any green deck I've created, this card reads: : Destroy target creature your opponent controls. Even at sorcery speed, it's still a 5/5 for a green card. The only way this isn't extremely useful is if you have a bunch of small Elves.

prey upon.... you, spitemare, and righteousness are going to have some good times....
(Though it would be even better if you could use prey upon to make the now 10/10 spitemare fight itself - instant 20 damage to an opponent)

This is not so dead card in early game... you know, green have still stuff like Garruk's Companion. You can imagine scenario like this...
T1: Forest, Llanowar Elves
T2: Forest, Garruk's Companion, tap Llanowar Elves - Prey Upon and let your companion fight your opponent's creature.
It seems like solid way to get rid of opponent's utility creatures (like Birds of Paradise or whatever else) in early game. This can be easily pulled on T2 and it doesn't require splashing. Green looks so nice in last few editions. It's been always my most favorite color, but I absolutely love possibilities it have right now.
EDIT: it really seems sweet with deathtouchers - fightning creatures deals damage :)

If you're going the Infect route with Prey Upon, Reaper of Sheoldred would be a fun way to annoy your opponent.

Fighting isnt considered combat damage so you can fog and then use prey upon with a ambush viper
