If I play this card and my opponent "taps" my creature in "response" does the tapping of my creature stop all the damage that would be done or does this card have nothing to do with tapping like regular combat phase action?

If you play this pre-combat, you can kill off blockers then attack.

This card is great, but when we see a fight card that is instant speed, and maybe CMC 2 or less. I'll be smiling ear to ear.

Oh you got something really annoying on the field. Well let's have my big thing nom it out of combat for cheap! One of the best and cheapest removal spells in the game. Green is finally being treated well after being one of the weakest colors ever since the game's inception.
