@wooded_taint: No, they're not. Only static abilities like lifelink are redundant. This is a triggered ability, like extort and exalted. Multiple instances of a triggered ability all go on the stack separately.

I like how you can apply this to an enemy's creature to just ignore damage from them (assuming a single incidence of damage doesn't exceed your current life total).
