I had 2 of these in my prerelease sealed pool along with Karn Liberated and Life's Finale. Not surprisingly, I went on to win the whole thing. Honestly, this card is the best removal in scars limited. It's just good, unconditional removal that pretty much says: "Destroy target creature. If it is indestructible, kill it anyways." It is reasonably costed, and is very easy to keep up, at the cost of some life. And I haven't even mentioned the best part yet: ANY color can play this. Outside of some sick bomb, I can't think of any card that I would first pick over this.

One of the most expensive uncommons in Standard, I think it's even higher than Mental Misstep at this point.
The weird thing is, I got passed two of them playing draft on the first round of packs. I'm pretty sure I was drafting with some really inexperienced players.

This and Tezzeret's Gambit are why New Phyrexia should have just been called "New Worldwake."

Not sure why it is not rated higher. Perhaps with this becoming a staple in modern it will increase.

Hey wizards, thanks for essentially obsoleting protection from white, blue, red, and green for as long as this card is legal in any given format!

I think Wizards pushed the power level of the Phyrexian mana a little too far with this card. Sure, messing with the color pie is fun and interesting up to a certain point. But when a mono-green deck can kill 90% of the creatures in the game for 1 mana? I think that's where "interesting" becomes "just plain wrong."
Just my 2 cents.

I run four of these in my vampire lifelink deck. Paying 4 life to kill a large percentage of creatures doesn't seem so bad, when you can make that back in a turn or two of lifelinking.

Is it me, or was Apostle's Blessing printed as an equally universal counter to this card?
