I just couldn't play any red deck without one of these in it. Such a great card!!

It's weird - really it's a very boring creature when you think about it. Just an Elemental, for a start, one of the most overused types in MTG. It's a red creature that just charges forth and runs over things, Ball-Lightning style.

Yet, there's something very appealing about this. I honestly can't see a time when you'd open a booster, get this, and not be pleasantly chuffed.

Its pretty interesting take on ball lightning. More easily splashable and the option of keeping it around if your opponent can't kill it is very useful. A fair payoff for one less power and one more in cost. I love that name too! Just say it! Skizzik! Ski-zzik!

This is a fun and balanced card, and now that I have seen it here I think I will pick up a couple for EDH. I wish it got a modern reprint when kickers showed back up.

In my opinion, Skizzik is better than Ball Lightning. Do not underestimate the ability to stay on the battlefield. You might think that its low toughness would make it die quickly anyway, but that's where your removal comes in. Note the Skizzik can survive your own Pyroclasm and hit for five through your opponent's weakened defenses. Another thing that you can do is cast something like Earthquake or Slagstorm and then cast Skizzik on your next turn.
