Garruk's Packleader
Pros
-Only requires a creature with 3 power instead of 4
-is a 4/4 itself
Cons
-Susceptible to things like Doom Blade, Path to Exile, etc.
Kavu Lair
Pros
-It's an enchantment so board sweeps will rarely affect it
-Powers up enchantment-based creatures
Cons
-Dies to Naturalize
Solution: Use both!

Ooo, this could be good for my Naya deck.

Yes it's nice but I think Drumhunter is a better choice.

You might want to consider Garruk's Packleader instead.

Too easy to deck myself with this.

If you think about how many cards this is actually going to draw you and on what sort of timescale, it's generally not a very good card. Unless you're in the situation where you're constantly casting fatties (are they constantly getting hit with removal, perhaps?) then it will underperform. In fact even in a deck where it would seem to go great, it has never drawn me more than 3 cards and regularly drawn me 0 or 1.
It is a fun multiplayer card though.

Very true, scumbling1...what kind of green deck can't destroy an opponent (or multiple opponents) after drawing many of their beatsticks?

@test-subject
Another con of Kavu Lair is that it helps your opponents, too.

Great in EDH. I run it in Mayael the Anima, and all but 2-3 of my creatures are 4+. Not an absurdly powerful card, but fun none the less.
