Part of Invasion's cycle of 2-mana friendly color gold common creatures, all of which had protection from their shared enemy color:

Galina's Knight - WhiteBlue (Merfolk Knight)
Llanowar Knight - GreenWhite (Elf Knight)
Shivan Zombie - BlackRed (Barbarian Zombie)
Vodalian Zombie - BlueBlack (Merfolk Zombie)
Yavimaya Barbarian - RedGreen (Elf Barbarian)

Apocalypse, two sets later, released an interesting cycle of 2-mana enemy color gold common creatures, all of which had different abilities:

Gaea's Skyfolk - GreenBlue (Elf Merfolk)
Goblin Legionnaire - RedWhite (Goblin Soldier)
Llanowar Dead - BlackGreen (Zombie Elf)
Putrid Warrior - BlackWhite (Zombie Soldier - later Warrior was added)
Razorfin Hunter - BlueRed (Merfolk Goblin)

@TPmanW: Based on what mythology? As far as I know in all mythologies elves and humans could interbreed and even if we don't concider that people doesn't mean human.

I love the flavor of the cycle of Invasion cards like this (Galina's Knight, Shivan Zombie, Vodalian Zombie, and Yavimaya Barbarian). They combine unexpected creature types! Sure, they're not the best cards in the game, but they're flavorful and make cool 2-CMC creatures in casual multicolor decks.

For even more similar creatures, check out the outlanders (Goblin Outlander, Nacatl Outlander, Valeron Outlander, Vedalken Outlander, and Zombie Outlander) from Conflux.

if they were designing this today it would be 'I know! Let's put White Knight and Llanowar Elves together'!

and be a 2/2 first strike, pro-black creature that can tap: for Green mana

This creature is terrible compared to White Knight/Black Knight/Silver Knight, but this card is a common, so that is likely why it does not have a second ability.

@Gainsbanding: No they're not. They're elves. Neat creature type mix though even if it doesn't amount to a person.
You could actually put together a decent casual elf/knight deck though.
2nd turn this
3rd turn Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers or Knight Exemplar
4th turn Wilt-Leaf Liege or Kinsbaile Cavalier
5th turn: Attack with invincible double striking elf knights!
