Dios mio, yet another use for the increasingly efficient and awe-inspiring Painter's Servant.

You think Treva, the Renewer's Lifegain is better than direct damage? What.

Excellent against monocolored decks, yet its somewhat weak when confronted multicolored decks. He still makes an outstanding EDH general however.

He is still a solid card: 6/6 flyer for 6 that can deal quite some damage. Still, of those 5 invasion dragons, I think he is the worst. They all deal fine damage, so increasing the damage output by a little bit, and only if your opponent has a lot of cards on hand (which is then a pretty bad situation unless you play an LD deck), is nice but not as good as bounce, discard, token generation or (in multiplayer games) great lifegain.
3.5/5

Let's say you get this guy out on average by turn 5. By then, a lot of decks only have 2 or 3 cards in hand, so this guy leaves something to be desired. Crosis, the Purger has a similar case, but I would call discarding at that stage better than a few points of damage. If they have a couple spells in hand, they are bound to be good ones.

@Majinara: It's interesting that you mention land destruction, because he happens to be the finisher in my land destruction deck.
You should be able to get this guy out pretty quickly, particularly if you run Birds of Paradise, because not only do they ramp but they help you get your red & black mana as well. What I'm wondering is whether or not you can pay to activate his ability more than once. It doesn't say on the card that you can't. If you can, swinging with this card could result in massive amounts of damage fairily early in the game!
