If nothing else, it's a 3/3 first striker and a 1/1 for 3 mana. Playable in white weenie.

Looks more like it should have been a "good uncommon." Is mythic rare an excuse to print former uncommons as rares, and by result of that, not guaruntee a rare in every pack? Maybe.
I say it could have been uncommon just simply because its simple and not above the curve...

Tempered Steel, Percursor Golem, Indommitable Archangel. 5/5 this goes right into white artifact decks. plus 3 mana for a 1/1 and a 3/3 first striker thats tempo to tha pepsi max.

@hairless thoctar: That's exactly what they did. Magic has been correlating rarity with playability for a while now. The only problem is when they make cards which almost inevitably become essential to tournament play, then decide they'll be rares or mythic rares. Because apparently the fun part of magic is chasing mythic rares through booster after booster, or simply gazing longingly at people with the money to do so.

I totally agree with HairlessThoctar. There's no thematic difference between this, Master Splicer and Sensor Splicer, only that the more rare one is costed more aggressively. This is not how vertical cycles should be - the rare on top of the cycle is supposed to be more epic in feel, like Bust // Boom.
