Assuming you don't have much flying in your deck, it's great, probably almost as good as Vow of Wildness. If you do though, you could find yourself up against a tough blocker.

Well, it certainly is pretty. Though I hate it in duels. If you're playing typical blue, you've just created a beefy blocker for all of your evasive attackers. Yech.

The best of the cycle imo, and surprisingly good flavortext.

so, I'm newish to Commander. I really like the Vows, they seem to be good to put on both yours or your opponents' creatures. I hear in Commander politics is big, so it seems the most obvious play with them is to enchant somebody else's guy who you'd like to be your ally.
In a two-person game though, which Vow is the best to put on your own creature?

Most of the cards I run in mill are either weak creatures like hedron crab or jace's archivist, artifacts and enchantments like jace's erasure, keening stone, or memory erosion, and then your basic instant an sorceries like archive trap or traumatize. Sure I have some removal and prevention spell like echoing truth, counterspell, evacuation, or thwart, I've even thrown in a propaganda, despite the $ cost. But nothing substantially and permanently prevents people from beating jace or my face in with large creatures far be it from countering a s... (see all)

@DarthParallax You only put it on your ally in a game with 3 players. Because your ally is already not attacking you. Put it on someone who's going to attack you, and force them not to. In a 3 player game this doesn't work as it gets your ally attacked, but in 4+ it does.
