A devent Griffen. I would like to have some interesting effects on them though. Peregrine Griffin has a very nice body to carry its first strike, being a 4 toughness moster with first stike means not having to worry about trading with something and getting bolted.
My one quip would have to be this. If you have flying how many monsters are going to stand in your way, really?
Defensively this guy could be helpful, but it makes no since. Now if this guy was a 2/4 with vigilence he would be awsome, or if he was 3W instead of 4W.
Anyway I think its an average card that could have been much better with some planning. Looks like I will be still waiting for a good Griffen to build my Griffendore deck around...

The worst of the 4 griffins in standard right now, though not completely unplayable. It's odd that there aren't more of them, given the printing of Griffin Rider. I think maybe they should've done a functional reprint of Stormfront Pegasus with the griffin type to make that guy playable.

This one will go right into my Griffin tribal deck; a deck that has been successful, even feared, in our group's multiplayer for a couple of years now. The deck has suffered from the Griffins' light backside, but this little jewel should cure some of that problem! Thanks, WotC, for tossing the Griffins a bone once in a while...

This card is actually a lot better than it seems. It's definitely great for picking off some red creatures that have a crap load of power but only 1 or 2 toughness.
And guys, please. Go easy on the commons. You can't compare a card worth not close to two quarters to a mythic rare.

Of course it doesn't need to be another Baneslayer Angel. In fact, very glad it's not. But rather than compare it to Baneslayer, rather compare it to Serra Angel. Sure an uncommon instead of a common like this, but so much better for the same CMC. Something to be said about death-touch I guess, but still...

White usually has the most efficient small creatures, which makes it harder to justify things like this. Not an awful card, evasion and first strike are not a great synergy though, and low power first strike is further underwhelming. You are paying for each of these abilities and its just that the sum total is a bit of a mess.
Fine filler for limited, which is what I expect it was made for.
