Salient, you are half right- the combo that you started is indeed what will break this card,
and the missing piece is coming in Dark Ascension.
I suspect this is about to go up in value quite a bit,
thanks to the new Havengul Lich in DKA,
which allows you to cast a creature from any graveyard for 1 colorless.
Havengul Lich + Heartless Summoning + (Priest of Urabrask / Priest of Gix) = infinite mana and infinite Storm.

@Gahoojin "2 of these + a solemn simulacrum, we must be able to break this..."
Havengul Lich?
: Search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. Draw a card.
Add Lotus Cobra or Amulet of Vigor for true breakage.
...
Just thought I'd put that out there.

First turn: Swamp.
Second turn: Mountain, Heartless Summoning
Third turn: Priest of Urabrask, Inferno Titan.
Also, play Myr Superion for free whenever you like.

This could be interesting in a sliver deck.

I could see a viable demon deck with huge fatties that stalls with removal until this and Death Pit Offering...then out with the fat Satans!

Fittingly, it's not very good with Heart Warden.

An all artifact creature deck and Tempered Steel makes this card scary. Also Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite.

two of these on the field and elesh norn. 4 less for no drawback.

2x Myr Retrievers + Heartless Summoning + Pawn of Ulamog = Awesomeness
This can also work with Deathgreeter, Disciple of the Vault, and Arcbound Crusher, if you can raise their toughness above 1.
