Yes. I'm 90% sure that's what happens.
Since it says, "Whenever it becomes blocked..." and Trap Runner says "...becomes blocked", it works.

Play land destruction for the rest of the game. I'm building a simple annoying deck out of this and such other combos. Everything is basically 5 mana, but it should be supremely annoying to play against :D

Oh, they must've meant that controlling player. Yes, that seems more in line with the block. I expect Wizards to errata this shortly, nothing to see here people..
Speaking seriously, this thing is SCARY. At common too. Odds are by the time you get it out your opponent will have something equally scary out, but they may have also vented a lot of kill spells...

Beautiful. I have faced these twice. Used control magic on the first; he used a burn spell to get it off the board. Threw a stab wound on the other, so it just sort of sat around, pinging each of us for two on each of his turns. I wouldn't have liked to meet one without one of these handy solutions. Tip: Don't block it unless you can kill it, or will die if you let it through. I miss you, playable commons.
