The new art is cool, it seems to be saying "better keep away", a scene taken earlier before the old artwork comes in, where the Kavu is already spitting the fire.
I wouldn't have needed a new one for this guy though, i found the old one to have some remarkable character, you'd immediately recognize that "it's that freaking Kavu!"
But i guess after reprinting it for the third time in a preconstructed deck set, Wizards felt like giving him a new art.

And, not surprisingly, the best red card ever is the one that makes the least sense in red. Nekrataal, Shriekmaw, Skinrender all saw a ton of constructed play. Red cards are usually inefficient at providing 2-for- 1 value, so this is amazing.

In Planeshift this was broken and twisted the whole game. And it still is curve breaking and broken. Not a good and balanced desing.
