A classic utility card. Counters annoying cards and kills whatever it can't counter. It's one of the only counterspells that aren't dead when it's time to topdeck.

would actually be a good card if both sides cost 1 less. As is, people just play the piece cards Remove Soul/Essence Scatter and Doom Blade/many variants.

A small premium on being a split card is fine- doubling the mana costs make it not worth it. Unfortunately, this was from the days when Dark Banishing was the accepted Kill Spell and Counterspell the accepted Cancel

Spite seems to be overcosted by 1, seeing as how Negate is 1Blue. Malice, with Dark Banishing at 2Black, is costed just fine. Overall it's about a 3.5/5 from me.

It's the cousin card of Izzet Charm !!! They both can either counter a noncreature spell, or destroy a creature. I love it. Now if only the CMC was 3 instead of 4...
