With all this investment in +1/+1 counters and such, your going to want to protect him from low-cost counters like Unsummon or Oblivion Ring. Try using Ranger's Guile, Sheltering Word, or Ring of Evos Isle.

This thing is hard to kill. Hard. The best solution is O-ring, Pacifism, but the worst part is that it almost always brings some Abrupt Decays with it.
Oh, and it is played in decks where the player wants creature cards in his graveyard? Yeah.

Just compare this thing to Drudge Skeleton. By replacing 
with 
, you get:
* +1 to power, so you can hit things harder
*An awesome discard outlet/permanent pump ability
*Trample, so all that extra power isn't wasted
*A creature type with stronger tribal support
Combine that with that fact that virtually no removal currently in standard includes the "can't be regenerated" phrase, and you've got yourself a pretty efficient beatstick.
