Part of RTR mission to make a vanilla card of every P/T combination that hasn't been done in Magic past.

...black, overcosted, heavy defensive card?
I'm actually not too peeved here. This card fills an excellent niche in Limited: Giving Rakdos access to decent blockers that they'd otherwise have to forgo unleashing for.

Found a great use for this: I went 2-6 at a WMCQ yesterday, and 'Catacumb Slug' seemed like a perfect way to describe my stellar record.

And so the slug tribal evolves...
Nice art, horrible card.

I do not think costing this at 2BB would have been overpowered for a vanilla creature. Still, it's just another creature destined for Limited play and then tossed aside until some unknowing soul tries to build a Slug tribal deck with it. The artwork is pretty, though.
