What creatures even compare to the size of this? I can only think of two: Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Marit Lage (Dark Depths). Only the latter one would survive combat...hopefully Emrakul annihilates the wurm first...ooops, there's three more ready to still take out Emrakul.

Not sure I like this. I don't think any "natural creature" should be 15/15. That size should be reserved for Gods, Avatars, and things like that.

@Egarret01
I can see where you're coming from though at the same time I don't really feel that the subtype(s) should always play a role in how high the p/t of a creature is. Look at Sepulchral Primordial. He's only a 5/4 as an Avatar. I sort of view it like this...just because someone summons an Avatar/god doesn't mean it's going to be this huge giant/all-powerful being weighing in at some preposterously high p/t. In the same sense not all "Natural" Creatures need to be limited to natural strength. I imagine Worldspine Wurm as being this utterly massive creature that hangs out near the core of the planet for the most part just feeding and getting bigger and bigger all the time. He's a "Natural Creature" sure...though even natural creatures can have a genetic makeup allowing them to grow to gargantuan proportions.
For what it costs to cast this guy and the creativity/imagination that I feel is connected to him...I'd say his 15/15 is well justified.
Cheers

I love the flavour implications of this guy's name. "Worldspine Wurm", the wurm that's the 'Spine of the World'. So huge that those who've seen it have made the assumption that it was big enough to stretch from one end of Ravnica all the way to the other. That's some crazy stuff right there!

Wow ... (O_O)
... BUT, Engulfing Slagwurm is perhaps more practical in an actual game.

A bit too expensive for any of my conventional decks...
So I just stuck it in my Dredge/Reanimator

This card alone got me into magic. To this day I do not own a copy but this is my favourite Timmy card ever.

This card feels like it should weigh about half a pound. Everything about it is massive. Also, wurms still need a lord. We keep on getting awesome creatures like this and no tribal support. I want to build a wurm deck, already.
Edit: In retrospect, I greatly regret that they didn't go the Thragtusk route and use "leaves the battlefield" instead of "dies" for its triggered ability. Would it have been too much on an 11-drop? Possibly, but it would've been good to see a giant green creature actually make something of a competitive splash for once.

6GGG for a 12/12 and three 4/4's would've been awesome.

While it can be tough to play and can reasonably clog up your hand, Garruk, Caller of Beasts can get this guy out on turn four if you ramp right, and given that not even immediate removal can effectively bring this guy down, it's bound to get some play in Standard.
Great with Karametra's Acolyte.
