If you vote this down because it sucks outside of planechase you might as well give forests a 0.5/5 rating because they suck in mono-red decks.

Yes, this is good mostly in Planechase. And yes, that is primarily how it should be judged.

But, having only played Planechase maybe twice, ever (and not having had this card in either of those games), I can still safely say that I love this card. I run a Kozilek, Butcher of Truth EDH deck which is probably 60% acceleration, and I play every single 2-drop mana rock that's available to me. The difference between a 2-drop rock and a 3-drop rock is deceptively huge. There are very few options for colorless 2-drop mana rocks, and I was glad to have another.

I may only see it in maybe a quarter of the games I play, but it really counts every time, Planechase or not.

2 for Tap: add 1 is so much better then 3, Tap: add any color.
Why? turn 2 cast this then turn 3 in Wrath of Bob range, my humble opinion.
