You don't know how good this is until you run it.

While you've got the right idea you have the wrong card. Vines of the vastwood as played by you prevents THEM from targeting it, not you. you're not your own opponent.

I would run her with Sigil of the New Dawn.

I think I might have fun playing this with Eight-and-a-Half-Tails and Flickering Ward. Put the Flickering Ward on the Standard Bearer against white, then let people target the standard bearer with whatever and any time they do you pay 1 to make whatever they are using to target him white, so that the ability or spell does not resolve successfully.

Uh, wouldn't shroud prevent your opponents from being able to target him, thus making him useless?

She's a lot better looking than Spellskite

Or Invulnerability. Though there are better combos, Flagbearers are unexpected enough to be fairly entertaining.
Also fun when your opponent realizes that the Aura he/she is playing to pump their creature could, in fact, target a flagbearer. Like yours.

Giving this thing shroud could be a useful way around it - Use, say, Vines of Vastwood against one so that you can't target (As it must target if able) and then proceed to do whatever to your heart's content.
