Okay, here's the thing. This card isn't GREAT, but it can work. With morbid and undying, this land can get you extra cards for sure. Other G/B draw options include Garruk, Primal Hunter and Bloodgift Demon.

This is a solid role player in my BUG Heartless Lich deck. It not only provides a sac outlet for me to reanimate ETB/LTB creatures, it lets me draw a card in the process. And there's nothing quite like surprising an opponent by sacing a Wurmcoil Engine to block at instant speed after you've already attacked with it (especially when you can just reanimate it). Highly underrated card.

I run this in my B/G Glissa deck. Midrange deck well fit in current meta for my shop. This card is a 2 of and does wonders for it.

Sac perilous myr, shoot a creature with its effect, get the myr back with glissa, and draw a card. So all in all. Removed a creature, activated morbid, and gained a card for the total cost of 5 mana (4 + the land itself)

Its also a good way to activate morbid for anything really. Tragic slip is a good thought albiet expensive.

While I understand the usefulness of this taking up a land slot, I still find Carnage Altar to be more useful. Or hell, Fecundity in the right deck even. Taking 2GreenBlack to use it only once per turn is sort of lame.

Granted, ok, fine, I'm speaking from an EDH/Legacy point of view. I have absolutely no idea how useful this is in T2, since I don't play that format. But judging by the low price it's holding, I'm assuming it's not winning any tourneys.

This card is a surprise MVP in a Black/Green EDH deck. Using Bloodghast or Nether Traitor in combination with it means at least one extra card per turn, and with Sheoldred, Whispering One, it can get even crazier. Sacrificing a Corpse Connoisseur to it and recurring it gives you a free fatty straight from your deck every other turn, and a splash of reanimation rounds out the deck. Glissa, the Traitor makes a wonderful commander, since she can recur artifacts too.

Instead of my usual attempts at wit, I'd like to provide some analysis for this intriguing megacycle of lands from Innistrad, namely how said lands fit into the overall design of the block.

Analysis: In Innistrad, BlackGreen are the primary colors of Morbid and major colors for Undying. The Backwoods enables both mechanics by providing you with an outlet for sacrificing creatures. Furthermore, there are multiple cards in Innistrad block alone that care that creatures are in your graveyard and oftentimes how many. Boneyard Wurm and Ghoultree are the premier examples, while Gnaw to the Bone and Spider Spawning aren't bad either.

Garruk Relentless also contributes to the death and graveyard themes, especially in his Veil-Cursed form which serves both as another sac outlet and as another means of capitalizing on your ever-swelling graveyard.
