@D34D2R1T35- You are a spoiled child. If you don't play Magic anymore, why bother going on Gatherer? Just to complain? Wizards doesn't read Gatherer comments, you know. And you're calling everybody who doesn't hate these cards trolls? I think you need to learn the definition of trolling, buddy.
The fact that common finally gets a usable duel land again like this is fantastic. As others have said, it's not as good as the shocklands or the M10 cycle, but it gets the job done on a budget. I agree that Wizards really should stop directly making rarer cards "strictly better" than more common ones, but as long as you aren't playing competitively or with people who feel like they need to play competitively, the gate cycle is good enough in most cases.
Not to mention that these are still awesome in Limited, RtR is probably the best Limited I've had the chance to play in so far. Makes up for the crap environment that was AVR, where they didn't think that an artifact that makes a 4/4 flyer eve... (see all)

No, don't even PRETEND to argue that this is anywhere near Dragonskull Summit or Blood Crypt. What it IS good for is when you want to build a mana base, and you have used every copy of rare lands you have up to 8-12, and you still want to run more non-basic lands. It smoothes the mana for the New Players and those playing Limited. Hey, that's actually really cool :)
Side note: Pulled one of these and Blood Crypt in the same pack. Thought to meself "Gee I'm a poor college student. It's been a while since I've given my family birthday or Christmas presents"-
'Bout an hour later: "Yo brother, it's not til November, but Happy Birthday and take it before I change my mind." Handed him the not-this-one. :)
I believe in Karma, and I believe my next booster pack will have something nice in it. :)
(I also noticed that Karma starts really actually working if you can be a-o-k with taking the bad in life along with the good. I.E., just because you have b... (see all)

I gave a bunch of these gates to new friends for multicolor EDH decks. It's nice to have cheap lands to teach the value of a good mana base and the downside of color intensive cards.

@Wurmcaller The irony here is that Rakdos Guildgate was actually played in multiple Grand Prixs for Standard, and was played in the champion's deck because the Rakdos Aggro deck is so desperate for BBB T3 for Geralf's Messenger while having 2RR T4 for Hellrider, that blood crypt, dragonskull summit, and cavern of souls isn't enough fixing for the deck.

Honestly, I like cheap dual lands , it gives us casual/EDH players better mana base for cheap :)

Works nice with an Amulet of Vigor on your board.

Here's hoping for more interaction with Gatelands in the rest of the block.
@Wurmcaller: i'm sort-of-okay with rarer cards being better rarity applied in any way outside of draft/casual. Max copies of a given card/deck would be neat, like 4/3/2/1 for Common/Uncommon/Rare/M.Rare. Though maybe only in some formats. Can't imagine the rage from having 50-75% of one's costly Legacy/Vintage Rares/M.Rares suddenly being made useless :P.

The closeup of this art is fantastically intricate and quite stunning. A budget mana fixer, even though the Gate mechanic really isn't well-designed or supported in this set.
