Looking at the art, more like "Butchered Ghoul".
Here's the real Butcher Ghoul

Ah, black, always a step behind green.
For years, it waited for Grizzly bears, while green messes around with strictly-better grizzly bears. They finally get Walking dead, and then they have to follow Young Wolf with this.

To all those who think Young Wolf is much better, do you think it'd be fair if Black had a 1-cost 1/1 undying zombie, at common level no less?
What if Young Wolf was an Elf? Wouldn't you think that'd be stupidly overpowered?
Zombies now do NOT need another great costed creature now. Diregraf Ghoul is pretty good, Gravecrawler's a mess to deal with.

@Nooboflore
Well yea...that is the idea. Green is the CREATURE colour. Green gets creatures. If black had "Growth Blade" and "Tree-Hugging tudor" I would understand. As it is you really have no right to compain. Like, black got Gravecrawler and Diregraf Ghoul this block, both of which are arguably better than their green counterparts. I won't even start on Massacre Wurm or Phyrexian Obliterator.

I have a black pauper deck, and this just lets my Vampire Aristocrat/Bloodflow Connoisseur get fed twice.

Young Wolf laughs at this.

Amazing how that 1 mana makes such a huge difference between this and Young Wolf.

Not quite strictly better than Walking Corpse, but close. This just really illustrates how wonderful Undying is. You get to chump block once (or even attack a few times) then get a 2/2 for 2. Vanilla 2/2 for 2 used to be green-only power level. Now black is getting something even better.

...I'll never understand how this saw competitive play in non-birthing pod zombie decks... As a devout U/B zombies player I have next to never considered this card as a two drop. I'd rather have like highborn ghoul or even distress over it.
IN zombie pod, however... proved a bit better than i expected. Not spectacular, but not bad.
