I choose this guy over Rakdos Shredfreak all the time and won more with him.

This guy is great for dropping turn 3 Goblin Guide and Tattermunge Maniac.

This guy allows you two swing for 4 damage on T2 with Champion of the Parish. Good stuff.

Lightning Mauler nearly single-handedly makes a good Battalion Deck run. I started running 4 of them to utilize alongside Firemane Avenger. T3/4 Lightning Helixes just for declaring attackers is brutal in the Nia deck I currently have constructed.

This card is the one card in the game that I think is perfectly designed. It's completely balanced and powerful. Being a 2/1 makes perfect sense and the ability is just great. It's one of my favourite red cards.

@RxPhantom: Swing for 4 on T2 with Champion of the Parish? whoopie... How about swing for 7! on T2 with Champion of the Parish and BTE. Anything that allows you to swing for 7 on T2 is completely broken. This card seems pretty outrageous to me.

This guy will be used in R/W decks for a long time after he passes out of standard, haste on demand in aggro decks is so useful.

I just saw this card tear through SCG Open Series: Nashville in Standard in Naya Human/Blitz and I have to say that this card has some serious potential in modern and, in the right decks, in legacy too. Having a 2 CMC easily splashable haste creature capable of dealing 2 damage (or not) while giving haste to any creature you just cast and will cast making your battlefield much more unpredictable. Mages using red have a great weapon here.
